Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of foona.app (“Foona”), a platform for discovering and booking heritage stays in old Damascus. By creating an account or making a booking you agree to them.

1. What Foona is

Foona is a booking platform. Stays are owned and operated by independent hosts; when you book, your agreement for the stay itself is with the host. Foona facilitates the listing, booking, and payment.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the platform, attempt fraud, or violate these terms.

3. Bookings & payment

  • The total price — nightly rate and Foona service fee — is shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
  • A booking is held for 30 minutes pending payment; unpaid bookings expire and the dates are released.
  • A booking is confirmed when payment succeeds; you'll receive email confirmation.

4. Cancellations & refunds

  • Free cancellation until 48 hours before check-in. Cancel a confirmed booking up to 48 hours before your check-in date for a full refund to your original payment method.
  • Within 48 hours of check-in, confirmed bookings are non-refundable.
  • If a host cannot honour a confirmed booking, you receive a full refund. Refund timing after that depends on your bank (typically 5–10 business days).

5. House rules & conduct

Respect the stays, their hosts, and their neighbourhoods — these are historic homes in a living city. You are responsible for damage beyond normal wear caused by you or your guests. Guest counts must not exceed the listing's stated maximum.

6. Disclaimers & liability

Foona provides the platform “as is”. We work to keep listings accurate but do not guarantee every detail of a host's property. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Foona's total liability for any claim arising from a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

7. Changes & contact

We may update these terms; material changes take effect after we post them and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Questions: support@foona.app.
